Katie Fleming, MS, LMFT

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Psychology, Katie returned to her hometown of Chicago. There, she attended graduate school at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Also, Katie completed her clinical training at the Bette D. Harris Family and Child Clinic. Earlier in her career, Katie worked in a variety of clinical settings. She worked with a very diverse client base, including work as a Crisis Therapist with a community agency. While working there, she provided home, school, and hospital-based crisis intervention services.
Currently, Katie specializes in working with clients struggling with mood disorders, life stage transitions, and communication issues. She also works with clients on conflict resolution, and helps clients struggling with repairing broken trust following infidelity. She takes a warm, collaborative approach to treatment, and will gently yet directly guide her clients towards their goals. Katie is a clinical member of the Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and Illinois Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (IAMFT).
 
Outside of the therapy room, her hobbies include working out, and spending time with her dogs. She also loves trying any new recipe that involves chocolate.
