Janelle Patterson
MS, ALMFT

Janelle specializes in treating those with mood disorders, relationship conflict, and supporting families with special needs.
I earned my Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy at Northwestern University. I received clinical hours through The Family Institute, where I worked with individuals, couples, and families of all backgrounds with varying concerns. I received specialized training in Integrated Systemic Therapy (IST), which is a framework that implements various models to fit each client’s unique needs.
Prior to graduate school, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Having a strong interest in helping the special education community, I worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist during and after my undergraduate degree, where I supported children with autism and their families. As I wanted to expand my knowledge, I shifted to a role in the Special Education Transition Program at New Trier High School. In this role, I supported students with a wide range of disabilities, between the ages of 18-22, to prepare them for post-school life. I worked in this role for almost three years, and it led me to my decision to become a Marriage & Family Therapist. Through this experience, I have become especially passionate about relational therapy.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with friends, watching loads of HGTV, and cuddling with my cat, Raisin. Exercise is my main form of self-care, and I teach a barre class a few times a week.
Janelle Patterson, MSMFT is in network with BCBS PPO, BlueChoice, and Aetna insurance plans.
